This chant is inspired by the Biblical story from 1Kings 19:11-13, where Elijah, being pursued by his enemies, is hiding in a cave in fear of losing his life. God comes to him with guidance and consolation, but not as Elijah expected. God approaches him quietly in a gentle whisper; a still, small voice. God gets our attention, but not always in boisterous actions. Watch for God also in the subtle sounds and movements of creation.
